The Call For Papers is now open for MobileFOSS 2013.
Yay indeed. The mobile software and hardware space has rapidly outstriped Personal Computing as the most pervavise information technology in all parts of the world, and a large chunk of it is run on Free and Open Source Software.
What do I need to know?
Right, so you're interested in doing a presentation at MobileFOSS 2013. Excellent.
The first thing you're going to need to know is that you will also need to be a registered attendee to linux.conf.au (the awesomest and funnest Free and Open Source Software conference in the world). This is because while MobileFOSS 2013 is awesome, it's actually a part of the greater conference.
Now that you've gone and signed up for super awesome fun time at LCA2013, you will need to register on this site. Fill out your details (contact details, bio, favourite platform, etc, etc), and then click on the Submit a Presentation menu item that will appear in the menu at the top of the site.
Okay what can my presentation be about?
Anything that's related to Free and Open Source Software in the mobile space. It can be about platform development (are you running your own fork of Android? Built your own OS from scratch?), hardware development (building your own phone? Running a mobile OS on an open hardware platform such as Raspberry Pi?), App development or similar.
How long do I get?
The day has been divided up into 25 minute slots. That's 20 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for questions. If you think your presentation is going to need longer indicate that on the form and we can talk.
